If you happen to find yourself near Colorado Springs, Colorado you have to make a point of driving through Garden of the God's Park! The park is 100% free and is a great way to spend a day marveling at this true geological wonder!
We have had the pleasure of visiting this park and the visitor center a handful of times over the past year or so. They offer many activities including hiking, rock climbing & mountain biking. In fact, the visitor center offers bike & electric bike tours, rentals & rides. For details click here. Another family fun activity is just simply packing a picnic and enjoying the scenery at any of over a dozen picnic areas in & around the park!
Coming into the park from Becker's Lane, you are greeted with the Garden of the God's Trading Post. From the outside, it looks to be a small little gift shop. Don't be fooled. With some serious expansions that they've done over the years, it can easily take over an hour to go through all the sights here! I'll leave it up to the signs below to give you a bit of history on this little treasure trove!
Making a stop at the Visitor & Nature Center is also a must do. The 20 minute video presentation is $5 per person and well worth the money. There is a deck off the main gift shop, where you can get some awesome photos and stop to enjoy a quick snack or beverage from the café. The gift shop is well stocked and has several different items to choose from for all age groups. Don't forget to grab your collectable penny from one of the penny machines before you head out the door!
All-in-all Garden of the God's is definitely worth adding to your bucket list. If you've been here before, be sure to let us know your favorite stops in the park!
